From the first meeting, my wife and I knew that Michael was the right person for the job. He presented himself as an honest, trustworthy and straight up tradesman, who brought his trades knowledge along with new ideas that complemented our own. This was an integral part of us deciding on trades people, that they come with open ears to our own design ideas, but also used their knowledge with our best interest at heart.

Throughout the job our relationship with Michael and the team of trades he works with was one of mutual respect, honesty and good humour. He was always on hand to discuss decisions, ideas and to coordinate the different phases of the project. No question was too trivial, or met with an “it’ll be alright” attitude. He always discussed, explained and rationilised each and every decision we made and how parts of the job would unfold. The tradesmen that came to site were equally as receptive, polite and helpful. Michael’s own team, as well as other trades such as electrical, plumbing, tilers and a long list of contacts he provided us with, such as kitchens, painters, were all a pleasure to work with. It seemed as though they all coordinated with each other as part of the one big team, rather than individual businesses. All trades displayed exemplary manners and site cleanliness was of high priority each day, as we often had our two young children with us when we returned to the property to discuss future decision. Michael’s professionalism as a trades person was never called into question, nor was his character, even cutting up fruit for the kids on the odd occasion for afternoon tea, while my wife and I were discussing decisions on site with other trades people.

Ample time was always afforded to us to make decisions and prior warning of up and coming time frames was provided and updated regularly. We are the kind of people that wanted to be involved in a lot of the decisions when it came to materials and products and we felt that our best interests were always at the core of Michael’s recommendations. No decision was a rushed one and the times when decisions needed to be made promptly, Michael was available to talk through all possibilities at the end of the work day. We both feel that this communication was a key factor towards us choosing Michael in the first place and why we have recommended him so highly to other friends in search of tradesmen.

The finished product, our home, speaks for itself. It speaks volumes for Michael and his teams skill as tradesmen. We are more than happy with the house he has built with us and the home he has helped us create. But this was not just a surprise unveiling at the end. Throughout the entire job, we were impressed with the quality and craftsmanship that Michael upheld. From the larger, structural elements, to the smaller finishes, we were impressed with his work. Most of all, we were impressed that it brought to life the ideas we had in our heads. What we asked for we got. What Michael proposed, he delivered on. And all in a way that left us feeling happy with the decisions that were made.
